Driver Spotlight 1/13/2023
Meet Daniel Porter, a 16 year over the road veteran of the Dick Lavy Family. Daniel has 4 grown kids and one at home with him and his girlfriend. When he is home he enjoys family time! He said that being the sole provider for his family, Dick Lavy has been there for his family in more than a financial way. He enjoys traveling and seeing the scenery and sights. He enjoys meeting new people and experiencing the different kind of weather around the U.S.A. The most unique thing about Dick Lavy to Daniel is that we are truly non-forced dispatch. If there is something going on at home they do the best they can to get you home for it. Where a company Driver becomes family, Daniel always says he appreciates being greeted by Mr. Lavy with his name.
Thanks to Daniel for his hard work of keeping the country moving and all that he does for Dick Lavy Trucking.

2018 Dick Lavy Trucking Rodeo and Picnic – 40th Anniversary
This year we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary! There was something for everyone at our annual rodeo and picnic with our driver simulator, kids games, prizes, food and ice cream. We were particularly excited to present our top rodeo winner, Gary Jeffers with a $2,500 travel voucher donated by our friends at S&S Volvo. Nathan Wilson came in second place and Mike Brown came in third place. They both had first pick of all of our fabulous prizes.
We look forward to this event each year and enjoy watching our drivers compete in this friendly and rewarding competition. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this event and helping us celebrate 40 years in business!

2017 Dick Lavy Truck Rodeo and Picnic
As we continued our tradition of the truck rodeo and picnic, the food, fun and competition were better than ever! We even had a visit from Gem of the Dayton Dragons.
Taking home first place in the rodeo this year with the top score on accuracy, was Nathan Wilson. There was a tie for second place between Allan Berry, Charles Howerton and Jason Winkle. Alex Mosebrook was awarded the third place spot. The top winners got first pick of all of the awesome prizes donated by our generous and loyal vendors.
There were also winners for those who competed in the driver simulator contest. Ryan Boyd was the top winner for the office. Of the drivers, Jim Foley took the lead.
Thanks to everyone for making this event fun and memorable!

2016 Dick Lavy Trucking Rodeo
Our 2016 annual truck rodeo was a fun time had by all. Friday we kicked things off with health fair hosted Wayne Healthcare, followed by a friendly driver simulator competition with our office and shop staff. Andrew Wolfe took home first place for the shop and Sherry Grise took home first place for the office. Valvoline grilled out for us on Friday, and Farmer Brown rounded out the day with his food truck for all employees. The weather was hot and beautiful for the day of the rodeo. The driver course is always a reminder to us of what profession drivers we have at Dick Lavy Trucking. They are safe, and have a lot of fun showcasing their skills. This year 1st place went to Charles Howerton he chose a TV as his Grand Prize, 2nd place went to Daryl Mt. Castle who chose a large gas grill, and 3rd place was a tie and went to Mike Brown and Tracy Weathington, both chose TV’s as their prizes also. We would like to thank everyone who made the rodeo such a great success this year, and to all of our generous vendors for their donations.
