DARKE COUNTY – As part of the second annual Honda’s Week of Service, office staff and drivers of Dick Lavy Trucking, Inc. worked to collect over 2,000 items to donate to a local food bank.

This was the first year the locally owned and operated trucking company took part in the national community service campaign.

Employees began collecting non-perishable food items in April…competing to see which driver and office staff member could contribute the most to this worthwhile cause. Bryan Dzoch won among the drivers, while Shelley Fireoved collected the most among the office staff.

Heading the food drive was Sherry Grise (Office Administrator), Nicole Whitesel (Payroll Administrator) and Shelley Fireoved (Driver Recruiter).

The items are scheduled to be delivered to the Fish Choice Food Bank in Greenville on Wednesday.

“We were very honored to be able to give back to our community during Honda’s week of service, and are excited about our contribution next year,” Grise told The Early Bird.
